My Spring Post Debacle

Apr 18, 2024 | 0 Comments

As you may have noticed my newest blog post was in your email a few days ago and when you clicked the link…nothing. That’s because while I was still busy writing the post and uploading photos …someone…. accidentally published my post prematurely and I had to take it back offline. Very unprofessional I know. I noticed that when I did finally publish the completed version last night it didn’t send me an email because the link was already created for it. Just go ahead and click continue reading again and you will actually go somewhere with it! Thanks Everyone. Have a beautiful spring weekend.

Spring 2024 Winter in the Bush Update

Apr 15, 2024 | 0 Comments

It took me forever to catch my breath since we got back and take the time to write about our winter experience in the bush. Life is so busy with two young kids and life happening all around us. I know there are people looking forward to an update and I also enjoy how these blog entries have turned into a written memory and history for our family. I just looked back in the archives the other day to see a picture of Sidney playing in a galvanized bath tub as a baby looking as cute as can be and nearly making me cry from the nostalgia. Life is so beautiful and tragic at the same time. read more…

It’s there for the taking, but it all takes time and sometimes it’s not convenient when something needs to be addressed. read more…

Back to the big City 2022!

Mar 28, 2022 | 0 Comments

I’ve been trying to get everyone caught up forever! We got back to Fairbanks late the first week of March. We’ve been running around like crazy ever since. This was the first year in a few that the Alaska Trappers Association hosted the annual local auction and fundraising benefit. We participate in both. The kids have been sick twice in the short time we’ve been in town. I needed to get the store up and running before I did a post or we loose important sales. Finally, I have the opportunity to let everyone know how the winter went for us. read more…

To the Wilderness Fall 2021

Sep 21, 2021 | 0 Comments

Not according to plan, as usual, I fly out to the woods on Thursday, the 23rd. We had quite a drought this summer up in the Yukon Flats and there isn’t enough water in our river to freight a load with the boat this year. That means all of our gang. Two adults, two tots and 7 big dogs are headed to Fort Yukon on Thursday morning and hoping to get us and the rest of our gear shuttled out from there. The majority of our supplies were flown out yesterday, Monday, everything was is plastic totes and we are trying not to imagine curious grizzlies getting into our stuff before we get there. read more…
