LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Blue Bell Ice Cream is returning to store shelves in Las Vegas.
The Texas-based company announced Thursday that the ice cream brand would make its comeback in spring next year.
"It has always been our goal to return to Las Vegas," Jimmy Lawhorn, vice president of sales and marketing for Blue Bell, said in a press release. "We plan to make our arrival just as the temperatures start rising."
Mesquite and Parhump are expected to receive service as well.
The company says it's building a distribution facility in Henderson and will start hiring for several positions, including drivers, salespersons, officer clerks and merchandisers.
Products are expected to be available at most major supermarkets and drug stores.
Blue Bell was briefly available on store shelves in Las Vegas, but the company left the market amid a wider listeria outbreak in other states in 2015.
The brand's ice cream comes in dozens of flavors, ranging from French vanilla and mint chocolate chip to seasonal varieties like banana pudding and coconut cream pie.
