Can I keep a Loaded Gun in My Car in GA? According to Georgia liberal firearm transportation laws, you can carry your weapon in your car when loaded if you have weapons carry permit.

Georgia generally allows anyone who is not prohibited from possessing firearms to have or carry a firearm on their person inside their motor vehicle.

Loaded firearms

California prohibits carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle in most locations. This prohibition is subject to certain exceptions, including for people who have a valid concealed weapons license. (See the Other Location Restrictions in California section for further information).

Private Vehicle Travel

Per federal law 18 USC § 926A, every U.S. citizen may legally transport firearms across state lines as long as he or she is legally allowed to possess the weapons in both the state of origin as well as the destination.

To legally transport a firearm in your vehicle, it must be: Unloaded; Locked in the trunk of the vehicle or in a locked container inside of the car (other than the glove box); and. Apparent and not concealed.
