Why are they taking everything off of Hulu? ›

Removing streaming titles is part of the company's cost-cutting measures, and a tactic employed by other streamers including HBO Max and Starz in recent months. Disney also recently began laying off thousands of employees and announced plans to fold Hulu content into Disney+ for subscribers of both services.

While it's great that Hulu has brought in another wave of new Hulu movies in May 2024, you should know by now that other movies and shows leave in order to make room for new ones.

Earlier this year, Aaron Korsh's addicting legal dramedy Suits enjoyed a well-deserved streaming renaissance when it was added to Netflix. But, as we're all well aware, it's a two-way street. Suits was added to Netflix in June and, sadly, it looks like White Collar and Burn Notice will be leaving Hulu in December.

As of today, Hulu is part of Disney Plus. Hulu still exists — it still even has its own app — but it's also being bundled into Disney's primary streaming service alongside all the company's other content. Even the Disney Plus logo changed to integrate that iconic green Hulu hue.

It's an availability issue

Shows: When you add a show to My Stuff, different badges that let you know how many episodes are unwatched, when new ones are added, or if something is about to expire. Movies: Adding a movie to My Stuff ensures that you see an expiring badge if it's about to expire.

For instance, if a show only offers five of the most recently aired episodes at a time, the fifth oldest episode will expire whenever a new (or sixth) episode airs and is added. The best way to keep up with rolling availability shows is by adding them to My Stuff.

If autoplay starts at the end of an episode, it's because you've previously watched that episode. When rewatching a show, remove it from your watch history to avoid this problem. Update the Hulu app. If you're watching on a mobile device, check for app updates in the App Store or Google Play.
