Kima at the Southern Mine has asked you to catch ten of the fireproof lizards found on Death Mountain near the Southern Mine. Go get 10 fireproof lizards, and take them to Kima. As thanks for the 10 fireproof lizards, Kima gave you his flamebreaker armor!

One of the best locations to find the lizards is at the Southern Mine between the Eldin Tower and the Goron City. Look for the lizards scampering along the rocks above where the Gorons are working, and pick up rocks in the area to find more under them. This rare lizard can only be found in the Eldin region.

It starts at the Southern Mine located in the Eldin Region, just South of Goron City. Speak to Kima at the Southern Mine. He's the only non-Goron in the area, and he's sneaking around, looking for Fireproof Lizards. Link will need to deliver 10 to him to complete the quest.

Fireproof Lizards can be found in the Scorching Climates of Hyrule Kingdom, particularly Death Mountain and the nearby Eldin Canyon. They can be combined with Monster Parts in a Cooking Pot to make a Fireproof Elixir, which will provide Link with temporary Flame Guard when consumed.

Flamebreaker Armors are pieces of Armor that can be purchased in the Ripped and Shredded shop at Goron City. One can also be received from Kima by completing the "Fireproof Lizard Roundup" Side Quest at the Southern Mine. When worn, they provide one level of Flame Guard.

Fireproof Lizards prefer warmer, mountainous regions in Tears of the Kingdom. They even prefer caves with hot temperatures. As such, Players will have better luck farming Fireproof Lizards if they search the Eldin Region.

To catch them, press down on the Control Stick to have Link crouch. Then, slowly approach the lizard. Tap A-button as soon as it prompts Link to "catch" the lizard.

Using armor to become fireproof

You can also use armor to become flame resistant. The Flamebreaker Armor, which you can buy from Goron City, will provide you with flame guard, though you only need one piece to make it through these scorching areas.

Fortunately, there are more than 10 of them to be found, right within the Southern Mine. Link will need to use stealth to capture them as the lizards will run away when Link gets near. Crouch and walk slowly to capture them. Alternatively, if Link has the Stealth Set, he can reach them more easily.

This set is absolutely essential for any extended exploration in and around Death Mountain and the Depths below it and is, thankfully, quite easy to get your hands on. In addition to their individual effects, upgrading the entire set to level 2 prevent Link from taking extended burning damage.

Breath of the Wild

The Fireproof Armor consists of the Flamebreaker Helm, Flamebreaker Armor, and Flamebreaker Boots. All three pieces can be bought at Ripped and Shredded armor shop in Goron City, though a Flamebreaker Armor is awarded from completing the "Fireproof Lizard Roundup" Side Quest.

Grants a fireproof effect, which prevents your body from catching fire. Be sure to pack this when venturing out to explore caves in Death Mountain. To prepare Fireproof Elixir, add Fireproof Lizard or Smotherwing Butterfly, and Any Monster Part in a Cooking Pot.

Rather than embarking on a series of different side quests to get your hands on the Flamebreaker Armor in ToTK, you can simply purchase it at the Armor Shop in Goron City. It is rather expensive, though, so you may have to save up a little before you can collect the entire set.

Kima can be found at the Southern Mine in Eldin. He wears a Flamebreaker Helm over his head to protect himself from the Scorching Climate. He spends his days searching near the edges of the Mine. When Link first speaks to him, Kima remarks that that he appeared at the perfect time.
