If the device was enrolled manually or using Apple Configurator:
- Open Settings on the device.
- Go to General > Device Management.
- Select the MDM profile.
- Select Remove Management.
The most likely reason is that the MDM profile is set to be non-removable. If the administrator has configured it so that it cannot be deleted without their authorization, you won't see the Remove Management option in Settings. In another twist, the MDM profile might be entwined with your iCloud backup.
