How to keep poppers fresh longer? ›

Poppers do not belong in the refrigerator with milk, vegetables and salads. We recommend that you store your poppers in a ZIP bag or in a Tupperware in a dark, cool place in your home that is safe from children and other people. This can be in your closet or in your drawer, for example.

Store your bottles somewhere cool

Exposure to heat will rapidly increase the rate at which your poppers will go off. The cooler you can keep them, the better. How you do this will greatly depend on where you live. If you live somewhere more tepid or cold, simply keeping them in a cupboard will be fine.

Your poppers have lost its freshness and could even cause health damage. Look carefully at the surface of the liquid in the bottle. If you see dust or small foreign bodies, it is time to get rid of it. These small particles of material show that the poppers have degraded to an advanced stage.

Amyl and butyl nitrite are generally inhaled. The effects of the drug start after about 15 seconds, and last for up to 3 minutes. Poppers go off within a few hours if the bottle is left open or not properly closed. If they are stored correctly in the fridge, they stay fresh for a couple of weeks.

Place them in the freezer for a few hours, or until they're frozen solid. Transfer the frozen poppers to a zip-top freezer bag labeled with the date. Wrap in a layer of aluminum foil for added protection. Reheat from frozen in the oven until heated through (400 degrees F for about 10 minutes should be enough).

A poppers high begins with a few seconds of inhalation and lasts a few minutes. Because inhalants like poppers cause such a quick high, people may repeatedly inhale more to prolong the effects. Continuing to use poppers in this way is dangerous and can result in loss of consciousness and even death.

When this small “half ball” is turned inside out and then dropped onto a hard surface, it releases its stored potential energy and “jumps” far higher than the point from which it was released.

Keeping them in a dry and ventilated place is the best solution whatever the brand of poppers you have ( Jungle Juice, Blue Boy, Everest…) or the type ( amyl nitrite, propyl nitrite or pentyl nitrite).

TO REHEAT.

Rewarm jalapeño poppers on a baking sheet in the oven at 325 degrees F until heated through. In a pinch, you can also reheat them on a microwave-safe plate in the microwave. Note that the poppers will not be as crisp if reheated in the microwave, however.
