The Blue Axolotl in Minecraft is one of the rarest aquatic mobs and requires a lot of patience to spawn. Axolotls exclusively spawn in Lush Caves within water above Clay blocks. These caves usually thrive underground below biomes with high humidity. They are commonly found beneath Dark Forests, Jungles, Old Growth Taigas, and Wooded Badlands.

Axolotls only naturally spawn in four colors: pink, brown, gold, and cyan. This means that the rare blue Axolotl does not spawn within any Minecraft world and is only available as an offspring upon breeding two of the four types of Axolotls. While heading to these areas is the best way to find Axolotls in Minecraft, Java, and Bedrock both have console command options to expedite getting the blue variant.

Minecraft Java Edition

PC players using the Java Edition of Minecraft can open the command console by hitting the "/" key. This will allow you to add any cheat command in Minecraft. The command for spawning the Blue Axolotl is "/summon minecraft:axolotl ~ ~ ~ {Variant:4}."

Minecraft Bedrock Edition
