Loss Type Codes Overview

Use the Loss Type Codes file to identify the loss types you will use to produce Loss Notices and to process claims. The Loss Type Code links information in the loss notice to the ACORD form pre-fill.

You can use Loss Type Codes as selection criteria when you create loss runs and Losses Report.

Where the information goes

Information that you establish in the loss Type Codes file pre-fills to:

• Basic Loss pages

• ACORD Loss Notices

Both Report Builder and Mass Mailing use loss information that pre-fills from your policy data base.

Required Loss Type Codes preinstalled on your system

You cannot change the following Loss Type Codes or delete them from the Loss Type Codes file:

Loss Types must be associated with Loss Notices

When you add a Loss Type to the system, you must associate that type with the appropriate Loss Notice.

The Loss Type field is on the Loss Notice page.

Loss Types and Report Builder

The Loss Type field is used to track Type of Loss in Report Builder statements.
