Does the Lynel Mask work in Breath of the Wild? ›

The Lynel Mask is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Link can equip it as head armor. Wearing this mask near a Lynel acts as a disguise, causing it to not attack Link. Although if he stays too long, hit them, use a Rune or if an enemy from another race is present, the Lynel will eventually attack.

You can only get this monster mask after finding Koltin, Kilton's brother, and completing his first quest. You'll need to have given him 37 Bubbul Gems total to unlock the Lynel Mask. The Lynel Mask is the twelfth item you'll get to unlock from Koltin after he's set up his traveling monster balloon stand.

Silver Lynels (HCN 150) are the most difficult to defeat and the rarest.

If you can get behind the Lynel without it noticing, as if you were taming a horse, you can get a prompt to mount it with A - only unlike a horse, you can use this to hit it several times in the head before it bucks you off.

It's so well crafted, it can deceive a real Lynel. Equip it to blend in with Lynels, but don't linger too long. Those beasts are smart.

Golden Lynels can be temporarily fooled by the Lynel Mask or by Majora's Mask, though they will eventually see through the disguise if they observe Link for long enough or if Link draws a Weapon while wearing the aforementioned Masks.

Silver Lynels are extremely rare enemies in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Lynels are among the most difficult enemies you'll encounter in Hyrule, and Silver Lynels are the most powerful variety.

The Golden Lynel is a significantly stronger version of either the Red or Blue Lynels that appear in the game. Since it is only encountered during Winter, and the default season of this part of the woods is Autumn, Link will have to change the season with his Rod of Seasons to encounter the Golden Lynel.

The items at Fang and Bone are highly effective, making it well worth the trouble of tracking Kilton down. Though it's important to know Fang and Bone doesn't take rupees.

In Botw, Lightningblight Ganon was the hardest boss. However, even that doesn't compare to the Lynels. In Totk, the most difficult I've faced so far is the Armored White-Maned Lynels in the Depths.

Can you tame a Lynel? ›

Lynels can be found in remote areas throughout the map, these guys are definitely harder than your average Divine Beast boss, especially once they've leveled up to silver tier.

Accepted Answer. Nope, there aren't any side quests or medals tied to killing any Lynels. The only Lynel-related reward is for beating the Lynel Floating Coliseum in the Depths, which gives you Majora's Mask. Other than that they just drop good bows and are the best source of arrows.

Send some bomb arrow(s) at the Lynel (plural if you're using the mighty Lynel bow, single if you're not). The reason for the bomb is twofold: first, it deals a chunk of damage, but second (and more importantly), it sets fire to the grass and creates an updraft that you'll need to use.
