With Film Red being a hit, here are some things Oda should make canon in the manga.

One Piece: Film Red proved to be an absolute hit, following its release on August 6, 2022. The movie tells the story of Uta, a world-famous diva who happens to be Red Haired Shanks' daughter and Monkey D Luffy's childhood friend. The movie broke numbers worldwide and in Japan, specifically, ended up being 2022's highest-grossing movie – as well as the highest-grossing One Piece Film of all-time, surpassing all the movies that came before it by a landslide.

While the precise events of One Piece Film: Red are non-canon, a lot of specifics from it remain canon, confusing as that may be. The movie features an odd timeline placement and the content itself doesn't fit either. While there are a lot of conflicting events that happened in Film: Red, it's likely that One Piece Film: Red is at least partially canon. The movie does, however, contain a lot of elements that would be interesting to see in the One Piece canon.

7 Shanks' Burning Sword

Shanks has always been a mysterious character in the story. While he was one of the very first characters fans met, his absence ever since means the readers have rarely seen him fight or use his powers. This is something One Piece Film: Red offers the fans – some action for Red Haired Shanks and the rest of his pirate crew, the Red Hair Pirates.

The most interesting thing about Shanks' fighting style that fans witnessed in the movie was his burning sword. He can ignite his sword, Gryphon, and fight with it. This is something that was unknown to the fans up until now.

6 Kalifa and Blueno Join the CP0

The CP0, also known as the Cipher Pol Aigis Zero, are the strongest organization that's directly working under the World Government and they far surpass the likes of the CP9. While the author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, did not want to make Blueno and Kalifa, former members of the CP9, into members of CP0, the movie writers insisted that he does.

Due to that, he made a distinction between the strong members who are masked, like Rob Lucci and Stussy, and the weaker members like the new additions of Blueno and Kalifa.

5 Tot Musica

Tot Musica, the Demon King of Songs, is, in a way, the main antagonist of One Piece Film: Red. This monster was kept under the island of Elegia, and can only be awoken by the user of the Uta Uta no Mi when his song is played. It is a monster so powerful that it can destroy islands with ease.

He is shown to be an extremely difficult foe to deal with even with two Yonko being present and that is due to the fact that it has to be attacked from both the real world and the Uta world simultaneously with matched timing. It would be interesting to see this monster in the One Piece canon if Uta makes her manga debut.

4 Red Hair Pirates Abilities

One of the most hyped things about One Piece Film: Red Movie was undoubtedly the Red Hair Pirates. While Shanks took the majority of the attention, his crew still got to show off some of their abilities. Some of it is already confirmed to be canon, with examples being Benn Beckman's haki bullets, or Yassop's overpowered Observation Haki.

All this proves that fans shouldn't underestimate Red Haired Shanks' crew and they will, perhaps, show their abilities in the manga sooner rather than later.

3 Bartolomeo's Sound Barrier

Bartolomeo has been part of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet ever since the conclusion of Dressrosa years ago. And with the release of One Piece Film Red, fans got the opportunity to see him once again as he assisted Luffy and his crew in their fight against Uta and Tote Musica.

Interestingly, in the movie, Bartolomeo seems to have a new ability: creating sound barriers. Fans saw him use this ability when he trapped Uta and himself in one to try and stop her musical ability. This is similar to Corazon and Trafalgar Law's sound-stopping abilities.

2 Yonko Stronger Than Admiral

A big debate in the One Piece fandom has always been the power difference between the Yonko and the Admirals. While some believed the two should be equal, a lot believe that Yonko are superior. In One Piece Film: Red, it would seem that Yonko are indeed stronger than the Admirals as seen when Shanks confronted two of the Admirals.

While their fight was most likely not canon, it would be interesting if Oda confirms in a canon fight that Yonko are, in fact, the strongest on the seas.

1 Uta's Character

Uta can be seen as the main character of the movie One Piece Film: Red. She is, perhaps, the best movie antagonist to yet be introduced. Her story that links her to two Yonko, Shanks and Monkey D. Luffy, makes her quite an interesting character. Her ability, the Uta Uta no Mi, is one of the best and most overpowered Devil Fruits to have been introduced in the series.

The author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda, has already confirmed that she is a canon character, but it remains to be seen if she contributes to the story in any way and how much of what she did in One Piece: Film Red will be canon.
