Biography[]
Phoebe is the daughter of Ridge Forrester and Taylor Hayes. She has a twin sister, Steffy Forrester, an older brother, Thomas Forrester and a younger half-brother R.J. Forrester via Ridge and Brooke Logan. Taylor's pregnancy was difficult since she had tuberculosis.
Storylines[]
Childhood[]
When they were children, Steffy fell overboard during a family boat trip in St. Thomas and was presumed deceased from a shark attack. Two-year-old Phoebe didn't understand when her parents tried to explain that Steffy had gone to heaven. It turned out that Morgan DeWitt (who once had been forced by Stephanie Douglas to abort Ridge's child) kidnapped Steffy and tried to raise her as her own. Once Ridge and Taylor rescued Steffy, Phoebe and Steffy developed a close bond.
In 2002, after Taylor was killed in an altercation with Sheila Carter, Ridge remarried Brooke, who helped raise Phoebe and her sister. Everyone was stunned when Taylor turned up alive; Taylor's former husband, Prince Omar of Morocco had spirited Taylor away to his palace to heal her, planting a wax dummy in her grave. Phoebe's family was reunited until Taylor told Ridge that, long ago, she had slept with her friend James Warwick. After Ridge and Taylor's divorce, Phoebe and Steffy went away to boarding school in London.
Return to Los Angeles and Witnessing Darla Forrester's Death[]
In 2006, Phoebe returned to Los Angeles alone while Steffy stayed behind in Europe. Phoebe got a flat tire on the way to the birthday party of her Uncle Thorne Forrester's daughter, Alexandria Forrester. She called her mom, Taylor Hayes Forrester for help, who had been drinking and whose driver's licence was suspended. Waiting for Taylor to arrive, Phoebe became startled when a homeless man, Shane McGrath, popped up in front of her and offered to help. Thinking he was gone, Phoebe then called her aunt, Darla Forrester for help.
Darla arrived first and began changing the tire, but lost her balance and fell backwards, into the path of the arriving Taylor. This was witnessed not only by Phoebe, but also Shane, who had hid in the bushes by the highway and saw everything that transpired. Darla survived the crash but later succumbed to her injuries and died in hospital.
Relationship with Harry Jackson[]
A former Marone Industries employee, Harry Jackson, arrived in Los Angeles in 2006 to catch up with Nick Marone. Nick hired Harry to refurbish his boat, Shady Marlin, and allowed Harry to live on the boat while in town.
Nick arranged Phoebe Forrester to take Harry sightseeing around Los Angeles and the two soon began a mild flirtation, but it soon turned into a love triangle, also involving Shane McGrath. As the only eyewitness of Darla Forrester's death, Shane agreed to testify on Taylor's behalf. But soon, Shane began showing a darker side of himself when he blackmailed Phoebe to date him in exchange for his testimony. Harry soon realized this and did his best to protect Phoebe, but Phoebe believed that Shane was the only person that could get her mom from being sentenced to 10 years in prison.
After Harry punched Shane, thinking that Shane was attempting to rape Phoebe, Shane took off, along with his testimony. Harry soon left town soon after Darla Forrester's death was ruled accidental.
Relationship with Shane McGrath[]
Shane kept information on Darla's death to himself until he got a job as Taylor's landscaper, cleaned and shaven. He planned to use this information to blackmail the Forrester family for money, but it changed when he met Phoebe and began developing feelings for her. After an accident with a chainsaw, leaving him incapacitated from working, Shane gave up his blackmail scheme when the Forresters paid all of his medical bills and offered a roof over his head. However, when Taylor finally confessed that she was the driver that hit Darla and was arrested, he spoke out on her behalf that it was an accident.
Shane soon went back to his old routes and believed he was the only person to get Taylor out of prison, which Phoebe also believed. However, after a physical encounter with another man, Harry Jackson who had also developed feelings for Phoebe, he took off, along with his testimony, devastating Phoebe. He returned later after Taylor only got 100 hours of community service after a testimony from Darla's widower, Thorne Forrester. He soon began secretly dating Phoebe, much to the family's dismay.
Shane became obsessed with Phoebe and attempted to land a client for his recycling company so he could build a future with Phoebe. At this stage, Phoebe had lost interest in Shane and was romantically involved with Rick Forrester. Shane went to Forrester Creations (then Forrester Originals during takeover by Nick Marone's ownership) and confronted Phoebe's father, Ridge Forrester.
Shane blamed Ridge for his break-up with Phoebe, believing that he never supported their relationship. When Ridge threatened to call the police, Shane whipped out a gun on Ridge. Becoming increasingly insane, Shane felt alone and fell into depression and believed that if he was dead, no one would even know if he was gone. When he turned the gun on him, Ridge struggled with him, and the gun went off. Shane had intentionally turned the gun on himself during the struggle and died from the gunshot, making it appear that Ridge had shot him.
Relationship with Rick Forrester[]
After her relationship with Shane ended, Phoebe's attentions soon turned to Rick Forrester. Even though Phoebe and Rick weren't technically related, their close proximity within the family caused an uproar for the Forresters', especially Ridge and Brooke.
Phoebe went on a business trip to Australia as the new "Face of Forrester" where Ridge exploded after finding Phoebe in a clinch with Rick. They continued to see each other although she was bothered by his past relationship with the worldly Ashley Abbott.
Phoebe dreamed of becoming a singer and did some duets with Rick, attracting the attention of Constantine Parros. Constantine wanted to sign Phoebe to his label Boldface Records, but a jealous Rick balked. Phoebe and Rick drifted further apart as Rick accused Ridge of killing Shane, then shared romantic moments with Ashley Abbott. Although Constantine was interested in Phoebe and Rick wanted to make love to her, Phoebe rejected them both and went on a concert tour. Phoebe came home from touring and found Rick in bed with Taylor. After time, Phoebe came to accept the relationship, although it ended when Taylor told Rick that she would always love Ridge.
Death[]
In 2008, Steffy (now Phoebe's fraternal twin) came home from London and was soon propositioned by Rick. Phoebe learned of this and was appalled that Rick had made moves on both Taylor and her sister. She stormed into Rick's office and accused him of seducing all of them out of his lifelong hatred for Ridge. Rick got into his car to leave, but Phoebe jumped in with him, screaming at him, slapping him, and stomping on the pedals. Rick lost control of the car. Because Phoebe hadn't put on her seat belt, she was thrown into a ravine.
A bloodied Rick interrupted Ridge and Brooke's wedding rehearsal for help. Ridge ran to Phoebe, who weakly sang the song she had written for him and then she died in his arms. Phoebe's death resonated especially deeply for Rick, the driver of the vehicle; Taylor, who blamed herself for her involvement with Rick; and for Steffy, who briefly entered into her own forbidden romance with Rick and never fully recovered from losing her sister.
Legacy[]
When Liam Spencer and Hope Logan lost their baby Beth Spencer, Steffy supports them. Steffy spoke to Taylor about adopting a sister for her daughter Kelly Spencer, so that she can have a sibling to be close with, as Steffy was with Phoebe. Taylor tells this to her colleague, Dr. Reese Buckingham, who knows a mother with a baby for adoption. Steffy and Taylor meet the mother, Florence "Flo" Fulton, and her daughter. Steffy held her and decides to adopt her, naming her Phoebe Forrester after her sister. Steffy told Liam to consider himself Phoebe's father. Hope met Phoebe for the first time and had an instant connection with her, but Steffy felt as though Hope was growing too close.
In secret, Flo was not the biological mother of the child - it was Hope, whose daughter never died in childbirth, making Beth Spencer and Phoebe Forrester the same person. Numerous people learned of this secret, including Reese's daughter Zoe Buckingham, her boyfriend Xander Avant, his ex-girlfriend Emma Barber, and Thomas Forrester, becoming a "ringleader" among them.
The secret was eventually exposed by Thomas' son Douglas Forrester after overhearing a phone conversation between his father and Zoe, and told an initially disbelieving Steffy and Liam despite Thomas instructing him not to. Liam shortly after discovered an error in Phoebe's fake birth certificate and spoke to the doctor who was stated to have delivered her, prompting him to believe Douglas' statements and confront Flo, who confessed.
Liam told Hope about Beth and they both revealed the truth to Steffy. At first refusing to believe it, Steffy vowed to not have Hope take Phoebe away from her. Ridge and Brooke arrives at the house to comfort their daughters after learning about Reese and Flo's deceit.
Steffy eventually realizes that Phoebe is Beth, and after trying to convince Hope not to take Phoebe away, Steffy gives Beth to Hope and says goodbye to Phoebe. Hope promises her that Steffy will never out of Beth's life.
