Mark Wahlberg has appeared in many movies as an action star for which he had to apply a strict workout plan and a diet philosophy. The actor, mostly known for his comedy Ted franchise and action movies like the Transformers franchise maintains his physique to fit his roles.

Of course, the Boogie Nights actor is fully committed to his acting career. He has a long list of successful movies to his resume but the actor also ventured into entrepreneurship when he invested in ultra-premium Flecha Azul Tequila in 2021. Reportedly, Wahlberg is friends with the founders of the brand, Aron Marquez and Abraham Ancer.

Mark Wahlberg’s Diet Philosophy and Fasting Schedule

Mark Wahlberg is no stranger to a strict diet and fasting schedule. The 51-year-old actor has managed to beat the age factor in his movies. When a GQ interviewer said he does not look like 50, the actor jokingly said that he feels 60.

Wahlberg is also an early riser, “In a perfect world, I get eight hours, so if I wake up at 4 a.m., I go to bed at 8 p.m.,” he told GQ. Further, he wears a fitness tracking device, Oura ring. The actor just keeps wearing the ring and figures it’s a wedding band as well.

At the age of 50, when the actor incorporated a fasting schedule for his fitness goal, he was a bit frustrated.

“I’ll kinda splurge here and there, but it’s frustrating because later on in life I figure I found the secret to being able to eat more—or indulge more often—if I was intermittent fasting. So finding out about fasting when I was 50 years old was a little bit frustrating! I would eat a lot of small meals—buying into different philosophies at different times. But I feel like the fasting thing works the best,” Wahlberg said.

The actor does intermittent fasting with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He eats at noon “3 p.m. and 6 p.m. for an eighteen hour fast and a six hour eating window.” His usual diet includes eggs, protein pancakes, smoked salmon, pork chops, sausage links, and protein with some almond butter for breakfast. For lunch, chicken and bok choy, and steak and fish for dinner with some sort of vegetable. Further, the actor revealed his cheat meal saying that he usually eats pasta and like eating cookies and chocolate.

Mark Wahlberg Said Halle Berry is Amazing

Despite his strict schedule, Wahlberg, who bench pressed 335 lbs for Fun has managed some room for drinking. Well, he has been a part of a premium liquor brand. The actor admitted drinking Flecha Azul to GQ. “Up until 67 days ago I was drinking quite a bit of it every day,” Wahlberg said. However, the actor took a little break and gave it up for Lent for a film with Halle Berry.

“I’m training to go back and finish this film that I did over a year ago. Having trained for four months for the movie and then having made the movie for seven months and then having to go back to it is very frustrating, but it’s just part of the gig,” Wahlberg said.

Wahlberg is set to appear in Julian Farino’s Netflix movie Our Man from Jersey along with Berry. Wahlberg said that the X-Men star is amazing to work with and she has her own way of doing things.

“She’s amazing—you oughta see her—her program’s impressive. I don’t even try to compete, Halle’s in a league of her own,” Wahlberg said.

The Netflix thriller follows Mike (Wahlberg), a construction worker from Jersey who ends up in the world of super spies and secret agents after his high school ex-girlfriend Roxanne (Halle Berry) recruits him on a high-stakes US intelligence mission.

The movie also stars Jessica De Gouw, Jackie Earle Haley, J.K. Simmons, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Alex Brightman, and Alice Lee.

The movie does not have a release date yet.
