I play co-op with 2 of my friends. One is one level below me, and the other is 2 levels below me. If I play my character solo, and level up, then play with the same character in co-op, I'd be 3 levels above my friend, so would the enemies scale to my level, or something in-between?

I don't wanna play solo if they scale to my level, because I want the achievement for doing all the side-missions, but I also don't want the enemies to be too strong for my friends.

I'm pretty sure enemies scale to the level of the highest-lvl'd player. I haven't cooped since 1 though, so I could be wrong.

Not in the first playtrough it's pre-set. You can level well past the story easily doing quests.

Enemies essentially don't scale at all. There are certain points at which they'll "jump" a few levels based on story progress, but that's it.

Enemies don't scale until PT2.5. Then, it'll be to whoever is hosting the game.

The last side mission of the game kinda requires you to be a fairly high level and the enemy in the mission will be level 52.

It is always scaled off the "host's" game file. So if you invite your 2 friends into your game, the enemies will be scaled to your progress. The enemies in playthrough 1 are capped at 32-36 I believe. And playthrough 2 will have scaled enemies as well (not sure of levels). Once you beat playthrough 2, you will enter playthrough 2.5 and every enemy will be 50-52. It gets really exciting in playthrough 2.5... so enjoy!

Niiiiiiiiiiice! I hope that's true. Then I can go ahead with the side-missions then.

Newly discovered areas scale to your (the hosts) level. New for the playthrough, not your shaded/unshaded map.

Zone scaling, also known as level scaling, causes mobs, quests, and loot to scale with the player character's level over a range. This allows the player more freedom to choose where they level. It was first introduced in Legion for zones in the Broken Isles, but was later expanded to include the entire game.

Just don't level too far beyond Level 150-160 if you care about playing co-op with friends or engaging in PvP invasions, as Level 125-150 is the widely accepted "meta" for these activities. If you go higher, Elden Ring's matchmaking will struggle to find players who can summon you or that you can invade.
