Is The Ron Clark Story appropriate for school? ›

This movie is perfect for 5th grade and up, in my opinion. It's topic is an inner-city class with a naive but determined teacher. Mr. Clark is played by "Chandler" on Friends, so the kids will recognize him.

This movie is highly recommended for upper elementary through middle school. EXCELLENT example of explaining the importance of RESPECT for adults and self coupled with the importance of HARD WORK.

The movie features a fast-paced plot, excellent voice acting and a powerful message. Ron's Gone Wrong isn't suitable for very young children, but it's a good choice for a family film because it has something for older children and adults too.

You are strongly cautioned that the movie is sometimes intense. It contains violence, dark moments and visual images capable of scaring or disturbing younger children, particularly those who haven't read the book. At 151 minutes, the movie is also too long for younger children.

Sexual content is pretty strong. From a group sex scene to BJ lessons, the sexual content is not something my 14yo should watch, let alone a 12yo as others have suggested. GREAT movie and so funny! But feeling uncomfortable with kids who are too young in the room takes away all the enjoyment.
