Who should not use Upneeq?

Allergies to Ingredients. People who are allergic to any of the following should not use Upneeq.

  • Oxymetazoline
  • Upneeq
  • Any of the ingredients in the specific product dispensed

What should I know about Upneeq before using it?

Do not use Upneeq unless it has been prescribed to you by a healthcare provider. Use it as prescribed.

Do not share Upneeq with other people, even if they have the same condition as you. It may harm them.

Keep Upneeq out of the reach of children.

Upneeq should only be applied to the surface of the eye. Do not touch the tip of the medicine container to your eye or to any other surface to avoid eye injury or contamination.

Wash your hands before using Upneeq. Follow the Instructions for Use that comes with your prescription, so you know how to use Upneeq properly.

If you wear contact lenses, remove them before applying Upneeq. Wait at least 15 minutes before putting in your contacts again.

If you use other eye medicines along with Upneeq, wait at least 15 minutes between applying each medicine.

What should I tell my healthcare provider before using Upneeq?

Tell your healthcare provider about all of your health conditions and any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. This will help them determine if Upneeq is right for you.

In particular, make sure that you discuss any of the following.

Current and Past Health Conditions. Tell your healthcare provider if you have any of the following.

Other Medicines and Supplements. Upneeq may interact with other medicines and supplements. Before using Upneeq, tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using. See the Interactions section below for more details.

Pregnancy. It is not known if or how Upneeq could affect pregnancy or harm an unborn baby. Tell your healthcare provider if you are or plan to become pregnant.

Breastfeeding. It is not known if Upneeq passes into breast milk. Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Your healthcare provider will advise you if you should use Upneeq while breastfeeding.
