What's leaving Netflix in January 2024 (2024)

Say goodbye to 2023 – and goodbye to a number of notable names from Netflix because while it's a new year, here's one thingstaying the same:the Big Red Streaming Monolith axing movies and shows each month from its library.

It's unfortunately quite a star-studded batch getting dropped like the Times Square ball. For instance, just as the latest group of Oscar nominees will beannounced, past awards honorees "BlacKkKlansman," "La La Land," "Get Out" and "Call Me By Your Name" will be ushered off the Netflix stage. The rom-com classic "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" will tragically be forgotten by the Big Red Streaming Monolith, as well as the recent video game adaptation smash "Uncharted" and the artsy A24 options "The Bling Ring" and "Killing of a Sacred Deer." (Someother A24 releases, though, should be on the streamer – like "Uncut Gems," "The Last Black Man in San Francisco" and "The Farewell" –apparently snuck onto the service recently.) And kids, the end of school's winter break isn't the only bad news in January: "Spy Kids" and "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" will go away along with all that glorious homework-less freetime too.

That's not all jumping ship in January – so with no further ado, here's the full list of departures next month on Netflix.

"Get Out"

"Love Island USA" season 2

Matt Mueller Culture Editor @aManAboutFilm

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
