It’s been 20 years since Julia Stiles and Sean Patrick Thomas took over hearts and D-floors around the world in noughties hit Save The Last Dance, and things have never been the same since.
Alongside Stiles and Thomas, the 2001 hit film starred the likes of Kerry Washington who would go onto become a Hollywood mega-star. So, a lot has changed for this cast over the last two decades. Here’s what they've all been up to.

Julia Stiles as Sara
Remind me: She played lead character, Sara, who dreams of a career as a ballet dancer but when she moves to the South Side of Chicago and meets Chenille and her brother Derek, she learns a whole new set of moves, both out on the d-floor and in her heart. Profound. Iconic scene:

Sean Patrick Thomas as Derek
Remind me: He starred as Derek, Sara’s love interest and all round good guy with a troubled past and a bright future. He gives Sara a new perspective on the world, plus some (much-needed) dance lessons.
Iconic scene: The scene where he’s giving Sara her first dance lesson and she won’t stop plie-ing all over the shop.

Where is he now? Still firmly entrenched in our hearts. But professionally he’s had a few roles in shows like Reaper and Vixen and even did a stint on The Good Wife. He’s also raising a very cute family with wife Aonika.

Kerry Washington as Chenille
Remind me: The legend herself, Kerry Washington starred as best friend Chenille, who deserved more airtime just for the outfits alone.
Iconic scene: When she tells off Sara for not being more aware of her privilege, “open up your pretty brown eyes and look the hell around”. Cue round of applause.

Bianca Lawson as Nikki
Remind me: She played Nikki who was previously involved with Derek and jealous of Sara when they got together. She was portrayed as the villain, but we all know it wasn’t that simple.
Iconic scene: When Chenille first brings Sara to the club and Nikki (who is wearing black pleather cuffs with no sleeves, btw) says, “Seems like they’re letting anybody in these days.” Ouch.
