Crystal Beach is an unincorporated community in the Bolivar Peninsula census-designated place, in Galveston County, Texas, United States. Also known as Patton, Crystal Beach stretches 7 miles (10 km) along Texas State Highway 87 in the middle of Bolivar Peninsula.
On Crystal Beach, you can drive directly to the place where you want to stay and park your car right there. Parking and camping are free but require a beach pass, which you can buy in local stores on your way to the beach or in the town. The pass costs $10 and is valid for the whole year.

What We Have Heard: People in the community and visitors have been told that there is no smoking on the beach. Facts: The City does not have any regulations preventing smoking on the beach as long as it does not contain any illegal substances and the individual participating in the activity is of legal age to smoke.

We really loved that we could drive on the beach. We sat in our car and watched the waves and birds and such. It was a litte cool out so it was nice to enjoy the beach from the warmth and comfort of the car but still feel like we were right there with the nature of the beach.

As others have already stated, parking is $8 (cash only). No big deal. You park in the sand, so you can walk barefoot to the beach without touching hot concrete.
Like West Beach, this little section of beach has drive-on-the-beach access. The public beach is the area of sand from the vegetation line to the water's edge. (North of the vegetation line is private property.) Cars on the beach are not beautiful… but it sure does make beach trips easy with kids.
