Cherry is based on Nico Walker's semi-autobiographical story of war, addiction, and PTSD.
After returning to civilian life, he had undiagnosed PTSD, was depressed and traumatized, and became addicted to heroin. To fund his habit, he robbed ten banks around Cleveland in a span of four months, beginning in December 2010.

Tom Holland isn't a bad actor, and in “Cherry” he proves his skill set. He touches an array of dissolute looks and moods. Yet there's no real danger to him. (That's the difference between a Marvel good boy and a Sean Penn bad boy.)
Brand New Cherry Flavor isn't likely to have a Season 2.
Netflix called The Queen's Gambit a limited series, but many in that show's cast have teased a potential return.
Appearance. Cherry is a 16-year-old girl who is very pretty and has long red hair, and green eyes.
Now, Walker lives in Oxford, Mississippi, with his wife, poet Rachel Rabbit White, as he told GQ in February. He's also continuing his writing career.
Cherry is a semi-autobiographical novel that follows Walker's path as a decorated U.S. Army medic in Iraq who returns to Cleveland, gets addicted to heroin and ends up a convicted bank robber.
To get the money for the drugs they used, Cherry robs a bank and pays back the money. As a result of their daily heroin use, Cherry continues to rob banks frequently after he and Emily go through severe withdrawals. Emily overdoses and almost dies in a hospital.
