Bonnie Raitt has announced the fall dates of her 2024 tour in support of her 2022 studio album, Just Like That… The singer-songwriter returns to the live stage this spring with a new leg of the tour, that saw her do 75 concerts in 2022 and another 50 in 2023. Tickets for the new dates, with support by James Hunter, will be available to the general public on Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. local time, hereand here. On Feb. 5, 2023, Raitt was the surprise winner of the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the album’s title track, “Just Like That,” one of three she earned in February. “I don’t write a lot of songs,” she said in her acceptance speech. “But I’m so proud that you appreciate this one.” It also won Song of the Year at the Americana Music Awards in September.
Just Like That… was recorded in the summer of 2021 in Sausalito, Calif. The players include two longtime members of Raitt’s band, bassist James “Hutch” Hutchinson and drummer Ricky Fataar, as well as two new musicians, Canadian Glenn Patscha on keyboards and backing vocals and Nashville guitarist Kenny Greenberg. Her longtime guitarist/songwriting partner George Marinelli also joined in, playing and singing on “Livin’ for the Ones,” the song they co-wrote for the album.
Raitt took the producer reins once again, reuniting with her favorite recording and mixing engineer, Ryan Freeland, for their third collaboration. (They each earned Grammy Awards for Raitt’s 2012 release, Slipstream). Raitt turned 74 on Nov 8, 2023.
