The Galveston-Port Bolivar Ferry is a free ferry service that operates between the cities of Galveston and Port Bolivar, Texas. This attraction is also an important transportation link, and a beloved piece of local history in the Galveston area.

This Ferry connects two sections of State Highway 87. State Highway 87 is the only highway that circles Galveston Bay south of IH-10. The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) free ferry service is the only way for motorists to cross the waterway between Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island.
