Genshin Impact: How To Unlock Shakkei Pavilion (2024)

In Genshin Impact's Inazuma region, players will find several domains scattered throughout the region's islands. Unfortunately, unlike the domains found in Mondstadt and Liyue, the domains found in Inazuma are well hidden and require Genshin Impact players to complete several prerequisites in order to unlock them.

One of the most challenging domains to unlock in the Inazuma is the Shakkei Pavilion domain. On the map of Inazuma, this domain is located in the southern Tatarasuna region. However, players may be confused as to why they are unable to find the entrance to the domain at the location that is shown on the map.

Updated on January 25, 2022, by Scott Vengel: While Liyue has been the highlight of version 2.4, Genshin Impact fans are more excited than ever for a return to Inazuma in 2.5. Leaks have revealed, much to fans' expectations given miHoYo's history with releasing character updates before their release, that Yae Miko will be in the upcoming update to the game.

Whether or not this is true, players are now looking to make more predictions about the history of the region, and this means a return to domains that expand the lore of Genshin Impact. Because many fans will likely be wanting to complete Shakkei Pavilion, for this reason, this article will be updated to include an overview of the domain and a few tips for completing it.

Overview Of Shakkei Pavilion

  • Location: Tatarasuna, Inazuma
  • Adventure Rank: 32
  • Rewards: 40 Primogems, 500 Adventure EXP, 5 Electro Sigils, standard random domain rewards
  • Recommended Elements: Pyro / Electro / Cryo / Anemo

The Shakkei Pavilion is a one-time domain located in Tatarasuna. The domain embodies the story of an ascetic warrior that created the domain and the disheartened eccentric that would be discovered there, making it a must complete for players that love piecing together Genshin Impact’s lore. On the other hand, the Shakkei Pavilion also offers some nice rewards, including Primogems, Adventure EXP, and a variety of artifacts and handbooks for building characters.

How To Unlock Shakkei Pavilion

In order to unlock the domain, players must first complete the Tatara Tales quest, which is obtained from the Kujou Encampment. At this location, players must speak with a Shrine Maiden and a guard who will task the player with investigating the Mikage furnace.

Players must then travel to the Tatarasuna region and speak with the foreman named Xavier who oversees the furnace. At this point, players will be asked to investigate three points on the barrier that envelops the Mikage furnace.

After investigating the barrier, the player will then receive a map from Xavier that contains the locations of three cannons nearby that can be used to destroy the barrier. The player must then travel to each of the three locations marked on the map and use the cannons stationed nearby to fire at the barrier.

To operate the cannon, players must summon the Electrogranum nearby to power it. Once the cannons have been powered, the players must then aim the cannons towards the barriers and fire.

After all three cannons have been successfully fired at the barrier, players are now able to unlock the Shakkei Pavilion. To unlock the domain entrance, return to the southernmost cannon location.

At this location, players must aim the cannon at the rock formation on the far left where the Shakkei Pavilion is located. If the player's shot breaks the entrance to the domain, they should notice a brief twinkle effect appear at the location.

Players will now be able to access the Shakkei Pavilion and freely fast travel to its location. After completing the Shakkei Pavilion domain, players will receive 40 primogems, 500 Adventure XP, 5 Electro Sigils, 2 Guide to Light Talent Materials, 3 Heroes Wit, 5 Mystic Enhancement Ore, 30 000 Mora, and 1 Hopeful Heart. While the rewards from the Shakkei Pavilion can only be claimed once, it is definitely worth players' time to unlock the location and complete it as soon as possible.

In addition, players should note that Shakkei Pavilion works differently than other domains in Genshin Impact; the domain can only be tackled once, and so, the difficulty of the Shakkei Pavilion domain will reflect this. It contains a variety of Nobushi and Fatui opponents, including both Pyro Agents and Mirror Maiden.

As such, though Anemo characters are recommended, it may be better for players to choose their elements carefully; Anemo abilities that normally knock over and pull opponents will have less of an effect on heavy-set Nobushi and Mirror Maiden. On the other hand, Pyro, Electro, and Cryo users are all recommended for completing the Shakkei Pavilion domain. These elements work well together for creating high-powered reactions, like Overload.

Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Switch version in development.
