What are the tips for killing Hinox? ›

When ready for combat, strike its eye with an arrow to wake it up. Hitting a Hinox in the eye with an arrow is the easiest way to slow them down. Using a two-handed weapon on the legs is the easiest way to deal massive damage. The Blue Hinox and Black Hinox will cover their eye up if you start dealing too much damage.

Black Hinox are the strongest versions of Hinox found in Breath of the Wild. They wear greaves on their legs, similar to Blue Hinox, but their metal composition makes Black Hinox vulnerable to electric attacks. Like all other Hinox, their eyes are weak to attacks.

If players don't want to fight it, they can use an old trick in Tears of the Kingdom to stealthily climb onto the Hinox' hand and pick up the items around its neck without even waking it up. But these gigantic foes are well worth taking down for the strong Elixir and Fuse materials they drop.

How to defeat the Hinox in Tears of the Kingdom. First, make sure you're prepared. At the very least, you're going to need arrows and a strong weapon. We used a mighty Lynel bow and a Stone Talus hammer, and it went down in under a minute.

Fire an arrow at the eye and the Hinox will fall down and can be attacked easily without fear of taking damage. Keese Eyeballs can help add homing capabilities to arrows to make it easier to hit the eye. Repeat this attack procedure to take down the Hinox.

So then what's the point of even killing one in the first place? Upgrading armor and Kilon's(spl) medals! Lower tier hinox drop some pretty meh stuff, but their items are useful for upgrading gear. Most also drop food, either raw or cooked.

The blue Hinox of Turtle Rock is not the dungeon's "true" mini-boss, as it will respawn when Link leaves and later re-enters the room.

In the area, there are three Hinox that each hold an orb required to unlock the shrine. Whether you steal these orbs or kill the Hinox to claim them is your choice. Once you've claimed all three orbs, place them on the platforms to the West above the Taran Pass to unlock the Shrine.

You'll need long-range weapons for this fight, as you can't get too close to the Hinox. Especially while they're throwing trees at you. Shoot it in the eye to stun the Hinox. The Hinox will cover its eye, allowing you to run up and start attacking with a melee weapon.

Hinox Types

Only has 600 HP and isn't too quick to defend itself or use weapons. Blue Hinox - (16) Slightly stronger and smarter than the Hinox. These have 800 HP and may have wooden leg armor.

Once the fight inevitably breaks out, you should always target the eye of the Hinox with an arrow of any type, as although fire, frost, shock and bomb arrows will deal more damage to the Hinox, any hit will temporarily down the beast, leaving it open for a series of attacks from Link.

Whether you steal these orbs or kill the Hinox to claim them is your choice. Once you've claimed all three orbs, place them on the platforms to the West above the Taran Pass to unlock the Shrine.
