The Flamebreaker Armor set is an invaluable piece of gear in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. As well as protecting Link from some damage, it also highly raises his heat resistance. In fact, it gives the flame guard (fire resistant) effect, allowing you to explore all the warmest corners of Hyrule. You’ll be ready to take on Death Mountain’s hottest caves.
Flamebreaker Armor location
The most straightforward way to find all three pieces of the Flamebreaker Armor set — the Flamebreaker Helm, Flamebreaker Armor (chest piece), and the Flamebreaker Boots — in Goron City.
Goron City is in the northeast part of Hyrule, close to Death Mountain. The armor store has the coordinates (-1640, 2410, 0384). The full set of Flamebreaker Armor is available here. However, it is quite expensive. To wit:
The Flamebreaker Helm costs 1,400 rupees.
The Flamebreaker Armor costs 700 rupees.
The Flamebreaker Boots cost 1,200 rupees.
Each piece grants the flame guard perk and comes with a base stat of +3 defense.

How else can you get the Flamebreaker Armor?
Although it’s available with the rest of the set in Goron City, there are actually multiple ways to get the Flamebreaker Armor chest piece. This is worthwhile, because as well as being the cheapest option, combined with other heat resistant effects, for example from food, it will still enable you to explore some of the hottest areas of the map. For example, you can complete the Fire Temple with only the chest piece.

The chest piece can also be found at YunoboCo HQ, just north of Goron City at the coordinates (1604, 2827, 0424). The price is also 700 rupees.
Flamebreaker Armor upgrade costs, set bonus, and effect
As mentioned above, you get a stack of flame guard per piece of armor you wear, which prevents you from succumbing to scorching fiery heat (but not the regular sunny heat that you experience in the Gerudo Desert). Upgrading all the pieces to two-star or higher and equipping the full set makes you fully fireproof, which is great when fighting fiery enemies.
To upgrade the set fully, you’ll need 9 Moblin horns, 15 Moblin fangs, 15 Blue Moblin horns, 15 Black Moblin horns, 15 fireproof lizards, 24 smotherwing butterflies, 135 flint, and 2,280 rupees.

Where to Get the Flamebreaker Armor Set in TotK. Rather than embarking on a series of different side quests to get your hands on the Flamebreaker Armor in ToTK, you can simply purchase it at the Armor Shop in Goron City.
The Armor Shop is on the Southwest side of the town square beside the Inn, and you can purchase all three pieces of the set for a total of 3,300 Rupees, or just buy them individually: Flamebreaker Helm - 1,400 Rupees. Flamebreaker Armor - 700 Rupees.
Flamebreaker Armors are pieces of Armor that can be purchased in the Ripped and Shredded shop at Goron City. One can also be received from Kima by completing the "Fireproof Lizard Roundup" Side Quest at the Southern Mine. When worn, they provide one level of Flame Guard.
The Flamebreaker Armor, which you can buy from Goron City, will provide you with flame guard, though you only need one piece to make it through these scorching areas. The prices for the pieces are as follows: Flamebreaker Helm: 1,400 rupees. Flamebreaker Armor: 700 rupees.
You only need two pieces of the Flamebreaker Armor Set to comfortably explore Death Mountain's hottest caves and lava areas, but wearing all three pieces and upgrading them twice does give you the Flameproof set bonus.
If you're after a free piece of armor that provides the flame guard fire resistance perk, the Vah Rudania Divine Helm is located in a chest by the lizard-shaped lake at Death Caldera near Death Mountain. Or, you can get it by scanning the Daruk Breath of the Wild Amiibo if you have one.
Rather than embarking on a series of different side quests to get your hands on the Flamebreaker Armor in ToTK, you can simply purchase it at the Armor Shop in Goron City. It is rather expensive, though, so you may have to save up a little before you can collect the entire set.
You can also use armor to become heat resistant. The Desert Voe armor set, which you can buy from Kara-Kara Bazaar and complete a quest for in Gerudo Village, will provide you more levels of heat resistance the more you have equipped.
Two merchants sell Fireproof Elixirs. Gaile, a worker at Foothill Stable, has them available for travelers heading to Goron City. She suggests taking at least three, as this is what regular Goron City travelers do. One elixir costs 60 Rupees, two cost 110 Rupees, and three cost 150 Rupees.
All three pieces can be bought at Ripped and Shredded armor shop in Goron City, though a Flamebreaker Armor is awarded from completing the "Fireproof Lizard Roundup" Side Quest. Each piece grants protection from volcanic temperatures, similar to Fireproof Elixirs.
There are 35 armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom, and 30 individual armor pieces. This includes the bonus armor you can get by using Amiibo, but thankfully these sets and individual pieces can be found in the base game as well!
Lock on to him with ZL, then dodge and use the directional button to move out of his way. This will cause him to hit the walls around the cave, be stunned, and leave himself vulnerable to attacks. You'll need to repeat this pattern three times, hitting Yunobo each time he's stunned to take down a third of his health.
Flame Guard is an ability that protects the user from Scorching Climates, such as those around Death Mountain, which cause flammable materials to catch fire.
You'll be able to upgrade the pieces of the Flamebreaker Armor at a Great Fairy Fountain, in exchange for the following materials: 1-star (5 defense): 3 Moblin horns, 10 rupees.
You can find the Ember Shirt inside the Goronbi River Cave at the coordinates (1415, 2108, 0287), found between the Golow River and the Goronbi River, which are southwest of Goron City. If you look at the map, the entrance to the cave is at the southern point of the river, facing west.
Fireproof Lizards can be found along the path of the Goronbi River and inside most of the caves in the Eldin Region. However, players can also buy them from Beedle and Nembis, a Traveling Merchant near Kakariko Village.
