Sosie Bacon, the 21-year-old daughter of Golden Globe winners Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, has been named this year's Miss Golden Globe, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced.
"I've been to the Golden Globes once before and it was such fun," Sosie said. "I was about 16 years old and I went with my mother the year she won. My parents have always had such a good relationship with the HFPA and the Golden Globes, so they are very supportive of me being Miss Golden Globe."
Surprising celebrity family ties
Sosie's first acting role was in Loverboy, which her father directed. She has also appeared in four episodes of Sedgwick's series The Closer and joined the off-Broadway musical Fiction in Photographs last year.
She follows in the footsteps of last year's Miss Golden Globe, Clint Eastwood's daughter Francesca, Linda Evans, Laura Dern, Melanie Griffith and Griffith's daughter Dakota Johnson, who is now slated to star in the Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation.
"This year's honoree is also a talented actress in her own right whom I am sure we will hear and see a lot of in the future," HFPA President Theo Kingma said.
The 71st Golden Globe Awards airs Sunday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.
