Plainview is the town in which Greg Heffley and his family live. Its name is only revealed in the film adaptation of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, remaining unnamed in the books. Plainview may be located in Maryland, Virginia, or Long Island, New York, but it is most likely located in south Massachusetts, as it's based off the actual town of Plainville, where Jeff Kinney currently resides and works.
