Once upon a time in 16th-century Verona, Italy, two traditional families: the Montagues and the Capulets, cultivated an intense and unsustainable enmity that went back several years. Independent of this rivalry, Romeo and Juliet, unique children of these powerful clans, fall in love and decide to fight for this feeling. The lovers met at a party held by the leader of the Capulets, who was the girl’s father. Romeo Montague, obviously, was not invited but, believing he was in love with Rosaline, Juliet’s cousin, found a way to enter the mansion. However, when he faced Juliet, the image of the other girl disappeared from his heart, leaving only space for the unknown one. All in all, it was love at first sight!

Immediately, he looks for her to declare his own passion. A day later, with the help of Friar Lawrence, the two marry in secret. However, the shadow of tragedy seems to chase them. That same day, Romeo unintentionally becomes involved in a fight with Juliet’s cousin, Tybalt. At first, the young man didn’t respond to any provocation, but when he saw his good friend, Mercutio, dead, he kills Tybalt as revenge.

Furthermore, this death fuels the hatred between the families, and the Prince of the city banishes Romeo. The old Capulet, unaware of his daughter’s marriage to the enemy, arranges for her to marry Paris. Friar Lawrence convinces her to accept the marriage while conceptualizing a plan. Shortly before the ceremony, Juliet is advised by Friar Lawrence to drink a potion that would commit her to an artificial death. Meanwhile, Romeo would return to remove her from the grave of the Capulets as the effects of the potion expire. However, Romeo finds out about Juliet’s death before being notified by the Friar. Desperate, he takes a legitimately poisonous potion with him to the tomb where his beloved resides. There, he ingests the vial’s contents and dies next to Juliet. The young woman wakes up and realizes what has happened.
