Smart tickets are any kind of digital train ticket. You can load a smart ticket onto a smartcard, keep it on your mobile, or print it at home if you also prefer a physical copy to bring with you on your journey.

In most circ*mstances, you must purchase a ticket before you board a train. Most trains require reservations and you should not board reserved trains without a reservation. Passengers who do so are not guaranteed a seat and may be instructed to get off the train at the next station stop.

Smart tickets are e-tickets or tickets loaded onto an SWR Touch Smartcard and are a faster and easier way to buy and use train tickets as you travel across our network. You can buy smart tickets on our website or from the SWR App and avoid the ticket queues at the station and head straight to your train.

NOTE: RAC is considered as Confirm while prediction. Current W/L of 10 and excellent confirmation chances of more than 80%. Current W/L of 14 and good confirmation chances of more than 70%. Current W/L of 21 and average or minor confirmation chances between 70% to 30%.

If you don't touch in and out, we can't tell where you've travelled from or to, so your journey will be incomplete. Maximum fares don't count towards capping. If you don't touch in or out at the start and end of your journey, you may be charged a penalty fare or may be prosecuted.

You may be given a penalty fare if you don't have a valid ticket (or permit to travel) for your journey. If you travel on a train without a valid ticket, you will be have to pay the full single fare or full return fare or, if appropriate, a penalty fare for your journey.

There are several ways to purchase an Amtrak ticket: You can do it online or via Amtrak's app, you can buy tickets at the station, or you can order them over the phone. It is no longer possible to buy the full range of tickets on board a train. Like all train companies*, you must buy a ticket before you board, or risk getting a penalty fare.

Smartcards make the route from purchasing a ticket to getting on the train and travelling more efficient. Once a ticket is bought from your account, you don't have to wait in long queues at the station to collect it.

There is no need to print tickets thanks to e-tickets. In other words, e-ticket or online flight tickets have replaced the print ones. Passengers and airline company makes a contract through e-tickets. Passengers' ticket details are secured in the company's database through encryptions such as PNR.

After the chart has been generated, you can visit the booking counters or ask the TTE to provide information regarding checking the available seat. Visit the nearest railway booking counter to inquire about seat availability after the final chart preparation.

Yes, you can get a confirmed ticket if you have boarded the train with a waitlisted ticket or without a ticket. The e-waitlist list ticket will automatically get cancelled.
