In general, we recommend avoiding Sculptra injections between the eyebrows, on the nose, around the lips or eyes or into or around the frontalis muscle of the forehead. For these smaller areas, other dermal fillers like Juvederm or another injectable cosmetic treatment like Botox may be the better option!

Sculptra shouldn't be used on patients who have had or are at risk for hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation. Tell your provider if you've ever had difficulties hearing in the region around the treatment site or if you've ever had any skin infection or inflammation (such as cysts, pimples, a rash, or hives).
Who is not a good candidate for Sculptra? ›
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, you're not a good candidate. If you're younger than 18, it's better to wait until you're older before considering this. If you have any skin issues such as outbreaks, rashes or redness, it's better to wait until those conditions subside before considering Sculptra.

If you are treating one area or a smaller area, one syringe may suffice. While Sculptra is often administered in a series of injections of at least two sessions, sometimes one session is enough. It depends on how your results look a few weeks after the initial treatment and what your goals are.
