Salsarita's Fresh Cantinaand PuckerButt Pepper Company have teamed up to create the BurHEATo™, the world's hottest burrito made with Smokin' Ed's Carolina Reaper®, the Guinness World Record® Holder for Hottest Chile Pepper. This hot new limited time menu itemis available beginning tomorrow, the official first day of summer, at all 59 restaurant locations nationwide through September 22, the official last day of summer.

Developed by Salsarita's Menu Development Manager, Chef Tom LaFauci with Smokin' Ed himself, and tested in focus groups made up of chile pepper fanatics, the BurHEATo™ contains freshly grilled chicken, black beans, rice, Pueblo Corn Salsa, tomatoes, cilantro and just one teaspoon of Smokin' Ed's Carolina Reaper® pepper mash.

"When we heard the world's hottest chile pepper was grown right here in the Carolinas by PuckerButt Pepper Company, we knew we needed to team up with them for a hot new menu item," said Yanira Castro, Director of Marketing for Salsarita's Fresh Cantina, headquartered in Charlotte, NC. The BurHEATo™, priced at $9.99, is made a special way that locks in the full flavors of Salsarita's bold ingredients as well as the heat and flavor of Smokin' Ed's Carolina Reaper®---which is 300 times hotter than the average jalapeno pepper.

"Summer heat doesn't compare to the Smokin' Ed's Carolina Reaper," said PuckerButt Pepper Company Founder, Smokin' Ed Currie, who holds the Guinness World Record® for the world's hottest pepper. For those who need a little less heat, during this summer heat promotion PuckerButt Pepper Company's milder hot sauce, Shoot That's Hot™, will replace Cholula® Hot Sauce and be featured at all Salsarita's condiment tables to complement guests' burritos and tacos.

Guests can also bring home the heat by purchasing Smokin' Ed's Carolina Reaper® hot sauce for just $25 at all Salsarita's locations.
