The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that, while no sin is absolutely "unforgivable", some sins represent a deliberate refusal to repent and accept the infinite mercy of God; a person committing such a sin refuses God's forgiveness, which can lead to self-condemnation to Hell.
You can confess your sins directly to God. You do not need to confess to a pastor, priest, or spiritual leader to be forgiven.
The power to absolve lies with the priest, who can grant release from the guilt of sin to sinners who are truly contrite, confess their sins, and promise to perform satisfaction to God.
- Apostasy, heresy, schism.
- Violation of consecrated species.
- Physical attack on a pope or bishop.
- A priest who absolves an accomplice in sexual sin.
- Unauthorized ordination of a bishop.
- Direct violation by a confessor of the seal of confession.
- Anyone who reveals the overheard confession of another.
Despite its gravity, a person can repent of having committed a mortal sin. Such repentance is the primary requisite for forgiveness and absolution. Teaching on absolution from serious sins has varied somewhat throughout history. The current teaching for Catholics was formalized at the 16th-century Council of Trent.
I believe that God can forgive all sins provided the sinner is truly contrite and has repented for his or her offenses. Here's my list of unforgivable sins: ÇMurder, torture and abuse of any human being, but particularly the murder, torture and abuse of children and animals.
“The sins against the Holy Ghost are commonly said to be six: despair, presumption, impenitence, obstinacy, resisting truth, and envy of another's spiritual welfare.” Clearly, all of them are rooted in hardness of heart without any indication that the person desires to amend his or her life.
In the King James Version of the Bible the text reads: 31:Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Examples of mortal sins include murder, adultery, blasphemy, and idolatry. Some extreme instances of these sins, such as violence against the pope, can even result in ex-communication from the church which is a severe punishment that excludes a person from the sacraments and other aspects of the faith.
Does God forgive adultery?

Only Jesus can forgive sins. “Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Hebrews 9:22).
Catholic theology finds here Jesus intention to establish a sacrament of forgiveness in a formal rite of penance. In this rite, the priest absolves the penitent of his or her sins, but only when the penitent has confessed with true sorrow and a firm purpose of amendment or conversion.
Shirk signifies associating partners with God. The Quran states that: He who associates with God has surely forged a great sin (ithm). This association with shirk is noteworthy for shirk is considered unforgivable if not repented of.
Does God forgive all sins? Yes, He does, and He also expects us to forgive others. God's ultimate example of forgiving us is through Christ's sacrifice because we have been redeemed. This is something we can remember every time doubt arises.

Of the seven deadly sins, theologians and philosophers reserve a special place for pride. Lust, envy, anger, greed, gluttony and sloth are all bad, the sages say, but pride is the deadliest of all, the root of all evil, and the beginning of sin.
