What are Overclocked Weapons

Overclocked Weapons are a hybrid of the Standard Weapons and Unique Weapons. They typically have uncommon names and paint schemes like unique weapons, but they can be customized much like standard weapons. Overclocked Weapons are typically rank 4 weapons and offer a special Overclock mod that increases their damage capability.

Overclocked Weapon Types

Overclocked Weapons are available for all the same weapon types as standard and unique weapons. These weapon types are listed here. Click the weapon type to go to the page listing each weapon of that type, along with stats and other details for each weapon.

How to Acquire Overclocked Weapons

Overclocked Weapons are not acquired during normal gameplay such as completing Operations, Yaran Stories, Treasure Hunts, or capturing FND bases and checkpoints. Overclocked Weapons can only be acquired by purchasing them from Lola's Black Market, or by purchasing them from the in-game online store.

• Lola's Black Market: Lola has a stall in each of the three main guerrilla camps. When you interact with Lola, the "Special Operations" screen will open. Tab over to the "Black Market" screen to see what she has to offer. It will be a mix of weapons, gear, resources, and other miscellaneous items. All of Lola's weapons are Overclocked. Lower tier weapons cost 600 moneda, and higher tier weapons are 1000 moneda. Moneda is earned by completing Special Operations. Once the story campaign is completed, moneda can also be earned by defeating Insurgencies. The items available in the Black Market reset weekly.
• Far Cry Online Store: The in-game online store offers several weapons for sale for 300 Far Cry Credits. Other weapons can be purchased as parts of bundles. Far Cry Credits are purchased with real currency. The weapons in the online store will cycle through Lola's Black Market, so if you would rather not spend extra cash and you have some patience, you may be able to get what you want with moneda. Not all the weapons in the online store are overclocked. You can preview the weapons and check for the "Overclock" mod socket to be sure.
• Two weapons are available as part of post-launch free DLC. The "Decontaminant" Rifle is a reward for completing the Danny Trejo Special Operation "Malagua", and the "Vengeance Bow" is a reward for completing the Rambo Crossover Mission.

Customizing Overclocked Weapons

Overclocked Weapons can be customized at any workbench to improve their performance, just like standard weapons. Overclocked Weapons use the same attachment sockets and attachment options as standard weapons. Unlocking an attachment option for a standard weapon will also unlock that option for overclocked weapons of the same type.

The Mod socket options for Overclocked Weapons are different than standard weapons. They are all Rank 4 Mk. 2 versions of the standard weapon options, and provide a bigger boost to performance. The overclocked mod options must be unlocked separately from the standard options. Each option requires 3 Gun Powder and 3 Industrial Circuits to unlock. Unlocking a Mod socket option for a weapon will unlock that option for all overclocked weapons of that type.

Most Overclocked Weapons have a special "Overclock" Mod socket. This mod increases the damage of the weapon. This must be unlocked for each weapon. That requires 1 Gun Powder and 5 Industrial Circuits.

Overclocked Weapons can be customized cosmetically also, just like standard weapons. Alternate paint schemes and charms can be used to change a weapon's appearance.

Comparing Overclocked Weapons

Overclocking a weapon is no guarantee that it will be better than the standard version. In general, Rank 1 and Rank 2 standard weapons benefit more from overclocking than the higher ranked weapons. You should compare what can be gained and what you may lose with the overclocked versions. All the info you need for this is available on these pages.

Overclocked versions of lower ranked standard weapons can provide a respectable boost in performance and functionality. They may have more attachment sockets to add suppressors, scopes, or pointers that were not available on the standard versions, and the Overclock mod increases the damage.

Overclocked versions of the higher ranked standard weapons are generally underwhelming. Their base damage is reduced such that when overclocked their damage is equal to, or in some cases less than, that of the standard versions. The Overclock mod socket replaces one of the regular mod sockets, reducing the options for extended mags and other bonus mods.
