Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Broken Skull IPA makes its way to NE Ohio (1)

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Craft breweries have long found a niche in the market pairing with celebrities from Iron Maiden to Motorhead for beers. Now retired wrestler Steve "Stone Cold" Austin's Broken Skull IPA is in Northeast Ohio.

Austin teamed with El Segundo Brewing Co. of California on the India Pale Ale, which clocks in at 6.7% alcohol and features Citra, Cascade and Chinook hops. The beer has been out for several years but is making its first foray out of the state.

Austin, a known fan of West Coast IPAs, used to have beers (albeit more pedestrian lagers) tossed to him during matches. He’d spray, shotgun and down them in the ring.

Four-packs of 16-ounce cans are now available in Northeast Ohio. It’s the first time Broken Skull has been distributed outside of California by the nine-year-old brewery. Locally it is being distributed by Sixth City Distribution.
