The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year: The Mystery Of The Front Door - I've Scene It On Hallmark (2024)

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year: The Mystery Of The Front Door - I've Scene It On Hallmark (1)

I’ve got a short little update to post today, sort of a filler if you will. Back in the summer of 2018, I received a comment on the blog from a reader named Brent H. in Ontario, Canada. We emailed back & forth a few times about the house from The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, after I posted about some of the locations from the movie. I had mentioned in my story that in the promo pics for the movie, the front door was totally different than the one we saw in the movie. (Remember the wreath kept falling off the door?) Anyhow, this didn’t sit well with Brent.

Brent had a hard time believing that production would go to all the trouble to remove the front door and put up another one, for the sake of some promo shots. So, he began studying several of the promo shots and realized that there was a window that didn’t match up to the house from the movie, the garage door lights…and a gate as well.

Brent had tracked down the house we saw in the movie and he had a hunch about this situation, which he followed up on. And then he reached out to me with this info. So really, truth be told, this is Brent’s post, but my blog, so I’m sharing this info with you. I thought it was a cool tidbit and worth a mention. (Thanks Brent!)

Turns out, the promo shots were filmed at a home in the cul-de-sac, just not the house we saw in the movie!!!

Located a few doors down from Jennifer’s place, this home still features the same gorgeous burnt orange colored door we saw in those promo shots.

The homeowners have added a decorative piece to the door and it looks a lot like a small window, but after zooming in on my photos, I realized it’s not. And although it may look a little different now, it didn’t fool Brent……or me, when I went back to the cul-de-sac for another look and a photo shoot.

Although the foliage has grown over the years, it is still recognizable as the house from the promo shots. I really love the way that door just pops in the promo pics!

I wanted to mention that I have received many emails about Jennifer’s house, wanting to know if the floor plans were available. Because there has been so much interest in this home, I stopped by the cul-de-sac several times in 2018 and 2019, during my visits across the border. And every time, there was no one home.

Special thanks to Brent for reaching out and solving this mystery!!!
