Maidens play a big role in the life of a Tarnished in Elden Ring. Without a maiden, you cannot level up your character and there will be no one to guide you either. Plus, it is with the help of your maiden – Melina – that you are able to enter the Roundtable Hold where you can upgrade your weapon and interact with various important NPCs.
Speaking of maidens and NPCs, the very first NPC that you will meet in White-Faced Varre. If you are like me, you’ll want to complete as many quests as possible during your playthrough. After completing a few quests of White-Faced Varre, you’ll come across a quest that requires the maiden blood. That is why this guide will show you the dead maiden locations in Elden Ring.
The first dead maiden can be found in the Church of Inhibition while the other one can be found at the Chapel of Anticipation. You can get their blood from both of these locations to complete the questline of White-Faced Varre.

Church of Inhibition
The easiest way to get the maiden’s blood for the quest is to head over to the Church of Inhibition. To get to this area, you must clear the Stormveil Castle and should have defeated Margit and Godfrey. Alternatively, you can use the side route to skip this area entirely but we do not suggest that.
Once you cross that area, the next area that you’ll come across is called Liurnia of the Lakes. Once you are in this area, keep heading Northeast or check out the image below to find out its exact location. Keep in mind that this area has some strong enemies, so, be careful when running around.
However, once you are finally at the location, you can enter the church and activate the Site of Grace right in front of you. One thing to note is that this area will trigger the Madness effect so make sure that you hurry. Otherwise, you’ll take tons of damage when your Madness meter is filled.
From the Site of Grace, look left and you’ll find the corpse of a maiden slumped in a chair. Interact with the corpse and select the “dye cloth with maiden’s blood.” option. Plus, you can even get the Finger Maiden armor set if you choose the “Pick up item.” option.
Chapel of Anticipation
Alternatively, you can get the blood of the maiden from another location as well. However, getting to this area is more difficult and you must be prepared for a fight. Keep in mind that this is the same area where you initially start the game. Here, you will have to fight the Grafted Scion. This is the same boss that messed you up during the tutorial of the game. Now is the best time to get revenge!
To get to the chapel, head over to the Four Belfries, go to the west area of the Liurnia of the Lakes, and head over to the land and cliff area. From there, follow the image below and you’ll reach the exact location. However, be careful as there are a few giants in this area that can ruin your progress easily.
Once at the location, go to the top and open the chest to get the Imbued Swordskey. After getting the item, go to one of the portals and use the key to teleport to the chapel. Make your way towards the chapel and defeat the Grafted Scion.
Then, you can simply head inside and find the corpse of the maiden. Use the “dye cloth with maiden’s blood.” Now, you’ll have the blood of a maiden and you can return to White-Faced Varre to continue the quest. It doesn’t matter where you get the blood of the maiden, both of these areas will progress the quest.

Head just north of the Frenzied Flame Village and defeat the invading NPC named Festering Finger Vyke. Head into the church, activate the Site of Grace, then look just to the left of it to see the dead Maiden.
Tell Varre that you thought the Two Fingers “didn't seem right” to progress the quest. If you tell him that you thought they were magnificent, the conversation will end, but you can talk to him again to say that actually something “seemed off” about the Two Fingers to get back on track.
You can return to the Church of Anticipation by using an Imbued Sword Key at the Four Belfries. There, you'll find the corpse of a maiden with whom you can interact to bloody the cloth. You can travel to the Church of Inhibition in Liurnia, where you'll find another maiden corpse.
The reason that White Mask Varré has these maidens killed to soak the Lord of Blood's Favor is twofold. First, Mohg needs blood to try to wake the slumbering Miquella, who lost too much of his own blood trying to cure his sister's Scarlet Rot. Second, Mohg wants to spit in the face of the Two Fingers, whom he despises.
Therolina, who is one candidate for the player's maiden, intercepted by Seluvis and turned into a puppet. The dead maiden in the Chapel of Anticipation, the other main candidate for the player's maiden.
Early in Elden Ring, Melina informs the player that they are maidenless. It seems that there aren't many Finger Maidens left in the Lands Between. Of the confirmed maidens the players comes across, two are dead and one never met her Tarnished.
In Elden Ring, characters are morally unscrupulous, with evil intentions driven by power and malice, leading to dark quests and twisted outcomes. NPCs like White Mask Varre, Rykard, Godrick, and Preceptor Selvius showcase sinister motives, from sacrificing to grafting body parts for power.
Ranni's entire arc was about ESCAPING the fate others FORCED on her. Destroying her body, freeing the stars, killing the Two Fingers charged with her. All things she needed done so that she could finally HAVE a choice about her path.
You have to accept Melina's accord in Elden Ring if you want to level up and get your horse. While suspicion is wise in a FromSoftware game, you really have to say yes here. Because without her, you'll be cut off from some crucial tools.
Players can find the corpse of this maiden in the Church of Inhibition and use her blood to sully the Lord of Blood's Favor. Reaching the Church of Inhibition is challenging, as you must traverse the Frenzy-Flaming Tower and the Frenzied Flame Village in the northern part of East Liurnia.
When speaking with Varre, choose the option, “I'll fly straight and true!” to progress Varre's story. This step may or may not be skipped if you've already gone to the Roundtable Hold and spoken with the Finger Reader. In the event you've yet to return to the Roundtable Hold, do so now.
Every Elden Ring Ending Still Makes The Tarnished A Villain
Elden Ring has multiple story paths, but no happy ending. The Tarnished can choose to defile the world, or burn it all down. They can choose to break the curse of immortality, causing more death than they already have.
The Tarnished are individuals who lost the grace of the Erdtree and were consequently banished from the Lands Between by Queen Marika the Eternal. Following the breaking of the Elden Ring, the Tarnished were beckoned by lost grace, fragmentary divine light from the Erdtree, to return.
Melina is not technically a Finger Maiden, but will act as such for the Tarnished to aid them on their journey. Therolina never met her Tarnished to guide, and was at some point captured by Seluvis and added to the collection of puppets in his secret chambers.
To meet the character who will become your maiden, you will need to visit three Sites of Grace in the main world of Elden Ring - that is, not inside a dungeon. She will offer you a deal and become your maiden if you accept. This means that you can use her services to level up by spending runes.
If you forego using the Grand Lift of Dectus and instead use the mines inside the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, you'll be on this side of the Altus Plateau. There are tons of Omens roaming around the area and on top of the abandoned coffins.
